Mentor Qualifications

Mentor Training:

For experienced teachers interested in using their skills and experience to help support the growth of new teachers, Reach offers an instructional coach development program. Teacher Leaders work with preliminary credentialed new teachers in their schools, fostering their habits of mind and instructional skills.

Series:

Novice Mentor Training includes:

  • Orientation
  • Participation in the Reach Foundations in Coaching course
  • Attendance at a minimum of 2 workshops/year
  • Mentor communities of practice (optional)

Experienced Mentors new to Reach:

  • Orientation
  • Completion of online modules to orient to Reach Coaching Model and Process
  • Attendance at a minimum of 2 workshops/year
  • Mentor communities of practice (optional)

Returning Reach Mentors:

  • Orientation
  • Attendance at a minimum of 2 workshops/year
  • Attendance at a Inquiry Cycle scoring session
  • Mentor communities of practice (optional)
